ARLINGTON, Virginia., September 20, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The non-profit Food Security Education Partnership (PFSE) has selected Britanny Saunier, the current Director of Development, as its new Executive Director effective September 20, 2021. Saunier succeeds Shelley feist who recently resigned after 18 years of service at PFSE.
After a deep passion for the prevention of foodborne illness, Saunier joined PFSE for the first time in 2011 as an intern. She quickly rose through the ranks as a development and communications associate, supporting PFSE program development and donor management. In 2017, Saunier was promoted to Director of Development. In this capacity, she was successful in increasing the revenues of PFSE program services and diversifying the PFSE partner network.
She facilitated the program’s engagement with consumers and academic food safety experts, supported PFSE programs, including the National Consumer Food Safety Conference.

Saunier holds a master’s degree in public administration with a specialization in health policies from the School of Public Affairs of the American University in Washington DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. As Executive Director, Saunier will work closely with PFSE staff, board, partners and federal liaison to ensure PFSE effectively supports the 13,000 health and food safety educators he Serves with FREE, scientific information on safe food handling for community release to 8.5 million homes in the United States
