In the current Formula 1 season, the battle is not only fought on the track, but also off it. The teams try to fight with rules, but there is also a lot of personnel theft. According to Christian Horner, this is all part of the game.

According to The Gazetta dello Sport there were rumors that Aston Martin had set their sights on the great designer Adrian Newey, but Horner rejected this suggestion. “Adrian is happy with us and has extended his contract. He’s been with Red Bull for 16 years, he loves our approach and he’s still very motivated.” explained the director of the Red Bull team.

According to Horner, Wolff is not used to wrestling

The transfer of personnel between the different teams is only part of the policy that takes place off the track. “It already started in winter testing, then it was about ‘steep’ cars that would benefit more from the new rules than low-tilt ones.” said Horner. “And then we started to build a factory, for which we obviously wanted to attract the best people from the UK. Some of them were from Mercedes, which you don’t really like.”

During the season, a real media war ensued between the rival teams, during which Toto Wolff reportedly said that Horner was a little too keen on being in the spotlight. “ Toto hasn’t had any real rivals in the past seven years“replied the boss of the Red Bull team. “He’s not used to it, it’s a new experience for him. We, on the other hand, have won at least two of our four titles after an exciting battle.”
